Revised DIVINE WORD SEMINARY Handbook
The 2007 revised edition of the Divine Word Seminary Handbook went through the following stages: (1) A survey was conducted by a group of students as regards the different articles found in the manual of 2000; (2) Another group made a study on the different manuals of selected schools; (3) The Committee on the Revision of the Handbook was formed and met several times to discuss and give some recommendations/suggestions regarding the manual; (4) The Dean of Studies was tasked to consolidate all the materials and came up with the revised and expanded edition.
The draft went through several readings and revisions. The readers included Fr. Guillermo Villegas, SVD; Fr. Antolin Uy, SVD; Fr. Ron Bagley, CJM, and Bp. Luis Antonio Tagle, DD.
Policies that were included in the Handbook came from various sources like the Manual of Regulations for Private Schools, the Registrar's Handbook: Tertiary Level of CEAP-NCR, the Handbook for School Registrar's of NACSRA, CHED Memoranda, and the Minutes of the Rectors and Faculty Meetings.

Mission Statement
MISSION STATEMENT
The Divine Word Seminary (DWS) aims to provide a program of theological education and pastoral training for all qualified students ecclesiastical, religious and lay, male and female. The program of DWS aims to provide the necessary intellectual, spiritual, pastoral, and intercultural training. Furthermore, it is designed to foster in the student, both individually and as a member of a community and of society in general the appropriate knowledge, commitments and attitudes, behavior and skills. DWS considers as its important task to help the student to be firmly rooted in the tradition of the church. The school, likewise, aims to facilitate the student’s understanding and interpretation of that tradition as well as its translation and communication in order that the formation of persons and societies be accomplished according to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
In the light of its special missionary orientation, DWS’s theological program is characterized by a particular sensitivity to and appreciation of religious and cultural pluralism, intercultural communication, contextualization of theology and preferential option for the poor.
